National coach Luis de la Fuente of Spain will not have Nico Williams and Alejandro Baldé available for the important European Championship qualifier against Norway on Sunday.
Striker Williams (Athletic Club) still has chest problems, while defender Baldé (Barcelona) suffered a thigh injury during the 2-0 win against Scotland on Thursday.
De la Fuente has called up Villarreal defender Alfonso Pedraza as a replacement. Earlier, Barcelona striker Lamine Yamal, among others, also dropped out with a muscle injury.
With the victory over Scotland, Spain reached 12 points, 3 points less than the Scots. Spain has played one match less. Norway is in third place in the group with 10 points. If De la Fuente’s team beats Norway in Oslo on Sunday, qualification for the European Championship will be a fact.
