The Ukrainian footballers have achieved a crucial victory with a view to qualifying for the European Championship. The Ukrainians were too strong for North Macedonia 2-0 in Prague.
Shakhtar Donetsk’s Heorhij Sudakov scored the first goal after half an hour with a deflected shot. Deep into injury time, Oleksandr Karavajev made it 2-0 after Stole Dimitrievski, the goalkeeper of North Macedonia, had made a number of nice saves.
Ukraine has 10 points in group C after six matches. This puts the country in second place. Number 3 Italy has 3 points less, but still has two games to play. Leader England has 3 points more than the Ukrainians.
