Leiden University building in The Hague closed due to safety risk

A building of Leiden University in the city of The Hague will remain closed all day today due to ‘an increased security risk’. The university does not share what exactly the risk is.

Students and employees of the university are requested not to come to the building at Wijnhaven in the center of The Hague.

The university building in The Hague is normally open seven days a week. The campus in The Hague focuses, among other things, on international law, peace and security. Students attend lectures there, but there is also room for self-study.

Schools closed

A spokesperson for the university told RTL News that it will be decided later today whether the building will remain closed longer.

It is unclear whether the risk at the university is related to the war between Israel and Hamas.
